Job Overview

Perform as supervisory section chief for either the IT Operations Section (RQOCO) or the IT Infrastructure Section (RQOCI) of the Computing Technologies Branch (RQOC).

Supervise government IT personnel in each section and oversee and assist with their associated IT projects and efforts.

Perform all supervisory duties to include but not be limited to
  • Review and approve timesheets and time off requests
  • Review and approve section personnel travel requests in the proscribed government travel system
  • Provide and track required periodic training for section members
  • Provide periodic performance feedback and annual performance reviews per AFRL's Lab Demo system
  • Develop and track annual section budget proposals along with obligations and expenditures
  • Provide IT leadership and oversight of section projects and assist as necessary with project execution.
  • Mentor section employees in project management and conduct periodic project management reviews of IT projects within their section and report status to branch/division and or directorate leadership.
  • Develop online dashboards to display project and service status, availability, metrics, and progress on section projects and efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • United States Citizenship
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and work groups and resolving conflicts.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the DO-01 level or equivalent grade, (GS-11). Private sector experience will be considered and evaluated.
  • Applicants must have a DoD secret clearance to start
  • Ability to get and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance (will be submitted for DoD TS/SCI immediately if not already have)
  • Selectee will be required to submit an initial and annual OGE-450 (Financial Disclosure) in accordance with the Joint Ethics Regulation.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent will be subject to random testing.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov

Desired Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in building and managing government, preferably DoD, IT systems
  • Strong knowledge and experience with DoD IT environments and constraints and cybersecurity environment
  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Computer Technology, CyberSecurity, etc. from an accredited institution is desired
  • Experience distilling strategic and/or leadership guidance into actionable plans
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people, build consensus, and identify and resolve conflicts/problems within the workforce
  • Ability to motivate, develop, and grow technical teams
  • Experience developing innovative approaches and solutions
  • Experience cultivating and sustaining a professional environment of cooperation, cohesion and teamwork
  • Ability to work and lead others in complex, non-standard, and fast-paced environments
