Position Summary for Toppings Manager

The Sugar Foods Villa Rica operation is a food manufacturing, packaging and distribution facility. The Toppings Manager oversees the entire operation of the Toppings department specializing in the production and packaging of food toppings. This role involves strategic leadership to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and compliance with all food safety regulations. The manager is responsible for coordinating with Production Managers to optimize manufacturing processes, improve productivity, and maintain the highest standards of quality. They will direct the facility's operations, including planning, procurement, supply chain management, and product development, to meet business objectives and customer demands.

Your Overall Responsibilities as a Sugar Foods Toppings Manager

  • Effectively and consistently manage your day, your team, and your responsibilities to a standard
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as adherence to food safety regulations.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing management team across production, maintenance, quality, and other departments.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Sales to innovate and trial new products, aligning production capabilities with R&D needs.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and cost management to achieve financial targets.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, implementing Lean manufacturing principles and practices.
  • Manage customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction through product excellence and reliable supply.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Food Science, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a managerial role within a food manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of successful plant management.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement processes.
  • Experience with financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Previous P&L experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
