Job description: The Program Lead position will play an important role in defining strategy for Combined Insurance's business and managing the successful planning and execution of its strategic initiatives. This person will work with executives and business leaders to mobilize Combined 2.0 strategies related to sales distribution expansion and small commercial enrollment technology. Deliverables will focus on managing the overall program across business and technology workstreams, building detailed project plans, and creating executive steering committee materials. In addition, opportunities will exist to support strategic planning, range from defining capabilities and target operating models to building out business cases and executable roadmaps.
The Program Lead will be responsible for planning and managing strategic initiatives that focus on expanding Insurance distribution and/or products to new states or markets. This will span topics such as recruiting agents/brokers, onboarding/training agents, enhancing technology systems and operations to support the new business (e.g., sales tools, compensation, field support operations, contact center), and managing legal/regulatory changes. Experience executing a phased rollout of a new technology and/or program to a sales force would be ideal.
Key Activities:
ct as the program manager for Combined's distribution expansion initiative, spanning business and technology workstreams, and support the development of executive steering committee materials.
Project manager critical business activities that are part of the distribution expansion initiative and partner with business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Lead activities associated with managing the Enrollment Platform RFP (Request for Proposal), selecting a vendor solution, building a business case, developing an implementation plan, and delivering a proof of concept.
Lead executives in defining and assessing distribution strategies and target operating models related to distribution expansion and small commercial.
Help refine business goals/objectives, create future state business architectures, define/prioritize desired capabilities, and design business solutions spanning people, process, and technology
Execute all aspects of an assessment from designing frameworks and leading business discovery to building high-quality executive-level content/presentations and aligning leaders
Use hypothesis-based problem solving and drive decisions using data-driven, fact-based analysis
Partner with leadership to build business cases and develop executive roadmaps
Lead the transition from strategy to execution by establishing a program governance structure
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (MBA preferred)
7-10+ years of experience leading strategy and business transformation within the Insurance and Financial Services industry
3-5+ years of management consulting and program management experience
Knowledge of Insurance distribution management strategies (e.g., captive, independent, broker)
Understanding of group vs. individual insurance and value chain (e.g., UW, new business, claims)
Proven track record leading executives and influencing others towards a common goal or vision
Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, and ability to clearly articulate messages
Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
Highly organized, extremely goal oriented mindset, logical, thorough, and detail-oriented
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting capabilities
Out of the box thinker who can take a step back and find alternative solutions
Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time
Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
