VACANCY NOTICE
POSITION TITLE: Director of Elementary STEAM and College and
Career Readiness
BUILDING(S): Administrative Center
CLASSIFICATION: Tier I
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months. Monday-Friday: 8 hours/day.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Superintendent or Designee
SALARY: Starting at $120,000/year commensurate with
credentials and experience
EVALUATION PROCEDURES: Annually

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
2. Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
3. Successful leadership experience of at least three (3) years.
4. Experience in building community relations around STEAM and college and
post-secondary programming.
5. Experience establishing diversity and equity within college preparation
programming required.
6. Expertise and experience in leading college readiness programs preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collaborate with Elementary School Staff throughout the District to develop and
implement a Birth to 5th Grade aligned college and career readiness program.
2. Collaborate with School Leadership for Pre-K and Elementary.
3. Facilitate college and career readiness programming for Pre-K and Elementary.
4. Support in maintaining a data dashboard or tracking system to monitor College
and Career Readiness status of students.
5. Monitor elements of the College and Career Readiness Program and incorporates
Pre-K through Elementary elements.
6. Facilitate various opportunities for post-secondary exposure via multiple
modalities for elementary school students.
7. Facilitate various career tours/visits for elementary school students.
8. Monitors the employment needs of the Kane County Business Community.
9. Assist the Senior Executive Director of Teaching and Learning and Executive
Director of Secondary Education with the submission of local and state student
assessment analyses to the principals and superintendent in order to report
progress toward college and career readiness measures.
10. Contact and recruit area employers for the purpose of securing commitments for
internships and/or jobs for students.
11. Lead administrators for S.T.E.A.M labs in all elementary schools.
12. Works in conjunction with the Middle and Secondary Director with serving as a
lead liaison with colleges and post-secondary institutions.
13. Maintain a follow-up system for at least one year for the purpose of data
monitoring of success.
14. Lead staff in assisting students with preparation activities for job placement.
15. Collaborate with community-based organizations and community colleges to
complement, supplement, deepen, and enhance the District's college and career
education programs.
16. Work with community colleges in their efforts to offer an array of courses that
reflect a range of skills and knowledge levels as well as reflecting a wide range of
college and career opportunities. Dual Credit opportunities.
17. Recruit college and career coaches/contacts and community volunteers.
18. Work with school administrators, staff, local agencies, governmental bodies, and
businesses to foster coordination of services and integration with other local
educational entities.
19. Facilitate mechanisms to constantly evaluate programs, identify community
needs, and develop new programs when needed.
20. Monitor philanthropic websites, reviews trade publications, and maintains contact
with state and federal agencies that offer funding opportunities.
21. Perform other duties consistent with the position as may be requested by the
Superintendent or Designee.
