Associate General Counsel

Serving the people of Southwestern Alaska, the Yukon-Kuskokwim Hospital is a 50-bed general acute care medical facility. Fully accredited by JCAHO, services include adult med/surg, pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency room, as well as outpatient family medicine clinics, pharmacy, lab, and imaging.

Position Summary: Provides in-house legal advice and counsel to YKHC, supervises outside counsel, and shall represent YKHC in such matters as requested or directed by YKHC General Counsel or President/CEO.

Position Qualifications:

• Candidates must have a Juris Doctorate from a U.S. accredited law school and be a member of the Alaska Bar Association.
• Two years practicing law. Experience in business/corporate employment, healthcare, Indian Law preferred but not required.
• Able to become a member of the Alaska Bar Association.
• Excellent research and writing, communication skills, human relations, and the ability to be an effective team player.
• Manages the Legal Department in Vice President & General Counsel's absence.
