Keystone Aerial Surveys, Inc., a Vexcel company is looking for a Project Manager. The role requires a team player who is self-motivated, multi-task oriented, and tech savvy.

Vexcel Imagingis a leading provider of high-resolution aerial imagery and geospatial data, aerial camera systems, 3D data, and fully integrated photogrammetric software. Vexcel data services are used in a variety of industry solutions worldwide such as local and federal government programs, financial services, insurance, telecommunications, environmental, energy & utilities, mining, and many others that require the most accurate view of cities and lands in a consumable, digital format. This exciting space includes the use of Vexcel Data Services in AI and machine learning applications, as well as various innovative use-cases in partnership with leading technology companies.

Purpose:

The function of the Project Manager is to support flight operations, perform post flight quality control, validate client deliverables. The Project Manager will review the scope of work and design quality control metrics to successfully meet the aerial acquisition task order objectives. The Project Manager is responsible for working with clients to flight plan, crew, and execute required aerial flight missions. He or she will put quality assurance controls in place to assure the post processing of all data is in accordance with the quality control specifications of the project. The Project Manager is responsible for communicating clearly and completely with clients, crews, and post processing team and ensuring that delivery requirements are met on schedule. The Project Manager will assure that the required paperwork is filed accurately, completely and on time.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with crews and Flight Department Manager regarding aircraft mission priorities and deployment location
  • Coordinate project specifications with clients, crew members and post processing personnel
  • Determine when customer project specifications are not met and reject data. Coordinate re-flights based on this data
  • Track and document project progress, reporting to clients as required (daily if necessary), including weekends and holidays
  • Perform quality control of various deliverable items
  • Communicate with clients during quoting stage, pre-flight, post-flight, and before and after delivery
  • Design flight plans for quotation and acquisition
  • RFP/RFQ documentation assistance when needed
  • Review of procedures to foster improvements and efficiencies
  • Develop and document new procedures as operations change
  • Attend industry events to network with potential and current clients, seek out new business opportunities, and stay current on software, hardware, and best practices in the industry
  • Training of colleagues on quality control procedures, flight map making, delivery preparations, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow staff and managers, fostering a teamwork environment where every employee's input is encouraged.


Experience, Competencies, and Education
  • College degree in mapping, geology, GIS or related fields preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensing/registration/certification requirements:
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Ability to obtain a passport
  • Experience:
  • Required: One years' experience in the Geospatial profession.
  • Preferred: Two or more years' experience in the Geospatial profession
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to learn complex application software
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including overnight travel, if necessary
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned


The Project Manager of Keystone Aerial Surveys, Inc. shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:

  • Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers and management
  • Managers have been kept informed of any potential problems with flight data, flights, jobs, flight and support systems, delivery deadlines, procedures and delivery items
  • Successful completion of secondary duties as required
  • Adheres to all federal and company safety regulations


Physical

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee may also need to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This position will be working primarily indoors in a climate controlled, smoke-free environment. The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate but can be high in other areas. The noise level in and around aircraft can be high. Normal commercial auto and air travel hazards may apply should travel become necessary. Work times are during standard business hours; some overtime before or after normal working hours and on some weekends may be required to support operations.
