Under the direction of Dental Program Manager the full-time exempt position Dentist is responsible for providing appropriate oral health information to individuals of all ages and groups and the direct provision of dental preventive services to patients of FNCH consistent with current dental protocols.

Duties:
Program Responsibilities: 1.Examines individuals requesting care, diagnoses their dental condition, prescribes and carries out or directs others in carrying out appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refers individual for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines. 2.Records patient-dentist transactions as they occur in the patient's dental records so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient and the care treatment provided. In addition, the dentist shall complete patient referrals and other records or paperwork as shall be required from time to time by the corporation. 3.Educates individuals in the nature of health related conditions and in the general promotion or oral health related disease prevention. 4.Meets Federal dental productivity standards on a monthly basis. 5.Travels as necessary to meet operational needs. 6.Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Dental Program Manager or as necessary to achieve organizational goals and program objectives. 7.Maintains and updated skills and knowledge to appropriate professional levels with continuing education courses and educational materials. 8.Responsible for personal and professional compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and center rules, regulations, protocols and procedures governing the practice of dentistry and clinical provision of dental care as well as those relating to, but not limited to work place safety, public health, and confidentiality. 9.Ensures the preparation and maintenance of patient records of services and other activities to the program's functions as outlined. 10.Records patient transactions as they occur in the patient's electronic dental record so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, condition, and treatment plan provided. 11.Ensures confidentiality of all agency, staff, and patient information. 12.Participates in program and resource development planning sessions. 13.Ensures that services are provided in an effective, culturally appropriate and professional manner. 14.Develops a coordinated referral system with other programs within the organization in order to facilitate access to services. 15.Collaborates with other providers where there is an interchange of program participants to establish patterns of cooperative efforts. 16.Works collaboratively with comm

Unrestricted dental license to practice dentistry in the State of New Mexico.
