The Opportunity:

Join our clients team as a Civil Project Engineer, where you'll be responsible for working on various civil engineering components within a multidisciplinary project team. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with professionals such as geotechnical engineers, architects, landscape architects, surveyors, and more. This role will involve utilizing your expertise in hydrologic evaluation, hydraulic design, site grading, and design of various systems to contribute to the development of innovative designs.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Working on civil engineering components of multidisciplinary projects as part of a team.
  • Utilizing hydrologic evaluation, hydraulic design, site grading, and design of various systems to develop innovative designs.
  • Supporting the preparation of construction bidding documents, including construction drawings and specifications.
  • Compiling plan sets and documents necessary for permitting applications to local, state, and/or federal agencies.
  • Participating in client meetings and coordinating client contact as requested by Associate Project Manager (APM) or Project Manager (PM).
  • Attending meetings with Planning Boards, Zoning, Selectmen, and local, state, and federal permitting agencies to learn about processes and support APM/PM as needed.
  • Keeping managers informed of scheduling or project issues to ensure appropriate coordination of resources and client communication.
  • Providing monitoring or periodic inspection of ongoing construction projects.
  • Conducting on-site fieldwork to collect data to support design efforts.
  • Providing technical support for other staff during fieldwork activities, which may include on-site fieldwork (commensurate with experience/expertise).
  • Submitting timesheets and expense reports in a timely manner with appropriate supporting comments and documentation/receipts.
  • Providing information and documentation as needed to support PM/SPM billing review process.
  • Tracking time to ensure accuracy and billing hours according to project budget parameters.
  • Controlling project costs and providing timely notification of variances.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in civil or similar field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Prior experience working for an engineering or environmental consulting company preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the state where practicing; or successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and on track to take the PE exam.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and other civil design-related software. Developing knowledge of Civil3D, at a minimum.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in using assigned modules of Project Management/Accounting software (Vision).
