Position Summary:

The Clinical Director works as part of an interdisciplinary, patient-centered care team to support the overall health and well-being of people living with or at risk of HIV/AIDS. They are responsible for the oversight of clinical services delivered within department, including psychotherapy, substance use services and other counseling services provided by all/any staff lines. The Clinical Director provides formal clinical supervision to all staff lines, at all sites, either individually or in groups, and will work closely with other members of the Wellness Management team to address any clinical training/develop needs of staff. The Clinical Director oversees the care of high-risk patients, is available on an ad hoc basis to consult on the care of high-risk patients. The Clinical Director will maintain a caseload of patients engaged in ongoing mental health services. The Clinical Director will participate in quality assurance and quality improvement efforts. Must have previous supervisory experience, as well as experience working with HIV, mentally ill and/or substance using populations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinate weekly/biweekly individual and group clinical supervision with staff members across programs/sites, and complete needed documentation of supervision sessions.

2. Provides leadership and oversight for the management of high-risk patients, through formal and ad hoc case conferences/consultations; chart reviews; treatment reviews and recommendations

Works closely with other members of the management team to support staff members and identify opportunities for learning needs.

3. Identifies and provides (either directly or by coordinating for outside trainers) training to staff members on topics relevant to the provision of care for JPA patients.

4. Provides psychotherapy to a caseload of patients, either individually or groups, maintaining adherence to all program and regulatory requirements regarding patient care, including timely and accurate documentation in eCW.

5. Assist with hiring and orientation of new program staff, specifically with regards to the clinical aspects of their roles, including clinical documentation in eCW.

6. Assists in the preparation and updating of policy and procedure manuals.

7. Fosters strong interdisciplinary relationships with medical providers and other care team members

8. Provides intakes, screenings, psychosocial assessments, treatment adherence and risk reduction counseling, crisis intervention as well as ongoing therapy to JPA patients with mental health and/or substance use conditions.

9. Adheres to all grant/programmatic guidelines regarding service delivery and documentation

10. Conducts supervisee's chart reviews to ensure accurate diagnostics, compliance with documentation requirements, and appropriate treatment planning

11. Performs special projects and any other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. LCSW, PsyD or PhD required

2. Three (3) years of experience working with the marginalized populations

3. Two (2) years of supervisory experience

4. Familiarity with Office of Mental Health regulatory requirements preferred

5. Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as electronic medical records.

6. Knowledge of social services in the NYC area

7. Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments at any time

8. Ability to generate, interpret and analyze data from multiple sources

9. Must have cultural competency and comfort working with LGBTQ populations.

10. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
