Position Description

The Manager, DevOps is responsible for managing a team of individuals responsible for NSO's technology infrastructure, ensuring efficient functioning of Information Services' (IS) systems, networks, and services. You will manage diverse technical teams. This role is responsible for the analysis, design, planning, implementation, and maintenance of all facets of NSO's technology infrastructure. This position will help define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the DevOps team's effectiveness. This position provides the strategy, leadership, and day-to-day management of these functions and is inclusive of infrastructure, software, hardware, networks, and security.

This position is remote and can be located anywhere in the United States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • 55% People and Team Management: Manage the DevOps team including DevOps Engineers, Systems Analysists, Quality Assurance, and Data Architect. Set clear expectations and instruction by providing guidance, motivation, mentorship, coaching, and oversight to team members. Facilitate good communication and problem solving with team members. Define objectives and develop plans for team members ensuring successful delivery of projects in line with the organization's strategic goals. Monitor the team and individual performance, provide constructive feedback through weekly one-on-ones, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development. Ensure the optimal use of the team's resources to achieve goals efficiently. Develop and implement strategies to achieve and exceed performance targets.
  • 30% IT & Network Operations: Responsible for oversight of the entire network and system infrastructure ensuring proper configuration, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of security firewalls, sites/software, servers, data and file encryption, and internet connections. Manage vendor relations related to all facets of the role including security, infrastructure, and customer access. Maintain comprehensive documentation of IS systems, topology diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Ensure the seamless integration of external network and access controls with all 3rd party vendors and Network Partners. Design and maintain Azure Infrastructure Governance Standards for Azure Infrastructure Resources (e.g. VMs, Subnets, Virtual Networks, nics, gateways, etc.). Contribute to the development and execution of the overall IS strategy and align IS operations with organizational objectives and priorities. Collaborate with offshore development resources, to implement and optimize continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Work within the department to analyze, design, and optimize processes, workflows, and automation.
  • 10% Security Operations:Create and implement IS policies and procedures that enable strong security and risk-management capabilities Be willing to work flexible hours to address critical system outages and security breaches. Contribute to the design of, and oversee, the IS Compliance program comprising of standard IT internal controls. Establish security architecture and implement procedures and controls that ensure that information and data are secure and in compliance with the security and storage regulations of the business. Manage the NSO's Active Directory and Azure Active Directory implementation for the Enterprise. Ensure data integrity, security, and optimal database performance in alignment with the organization's Security and Data Governance policies and frameworks Serve as a member of the Incident Response Team by coordinating identification and resolution of IS security incidents, by following established IS security policies and procedures. Assume responsibility for business continuity, including disaster recovery.
  • 5% Service Desk Operations:The service desk is fully outsourced and will escalate issues that they cannot resolve to the DevOps team. Establish recurring meetings with service desk vendor to ensure incident response, time to resolution, and problem solving are optimal and efficient. Provide training to the outsourced team when needed.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, computer science or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing and maintaining production network, server, and security environments.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience managing cloud subscriptions in Microsoft (Azure), AWS, GCP or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in people and program management
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in ITIL practices including Incident, Request and Problem management.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing Site Operations.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing SSL and Internal Certificate authorities.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing Cisco security devices.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience mobile device management.
  • 3 years' experience managing ITIL practices including Change and Release management preferred, and with a CRM application (i.e. Salesforce CRM).
  • Experience in a healthcare-related industry preferred.


Supervisory Responsibilities

This position reports to the Director, Information Services and has up to 6 direct reports.

Salary
  • Salary is determined based on experience and skill set. Geographical adjustments may be considered.
  • Range: $85,061 - $113,300/year
