Program Overview
Located in Columbus, OH, Torii Behavioral Health provides treatment services to adolescents, ages 12 to 17, with mental health and behavioral disorders. We have a 20-bed acute hospital accredited by the Joint Commission for teens requiring intensive crisis care and treatment intervention.
Job Duties
Responsible for planning, developing and supervising the overall activities of the nursing department.
Responsible for evaluating the policies, procedures and guidelines on an on-going basis, i.e., nursing, pharmacy, lab, medical records, to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the nursing systems that provide consistent delivery of care and maintain and promote patient rights.
Responsible for developing, training and implementing new or revised nursing department systems and policies in accordance with regulatory agencies.
Improve quality results by developing plans and programs and introducing and evaluating new programs and technology.
Ability to identify short term and long-range nursing services needs and plans accordingly by recommending options and courses of action to meet the requirements.
Ability to comprehend and demonstrate an understanding of the developmental milestones of children.
Creates a work environment of professional practice by encouraging innovation and collaboration; actualizing human caring; eliciting a commitment to excellence; demonstrating a respect for diversity; researching and developing nursing care practice trends.
Responsible for the overall direction and implementation of the infection control program/ employee health program.
In collaboration with the Human Resources Department, responsible for nursing department human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling and coaching the nursing staff.
Responsible for completing employee appraisals, competencies, plans for improvement and disciplinary action documentation according to the policies and procedures of the facility.
Confer with the medical staff, as needed, to clarify medical orders and direct care.
Maintain patient relations by facilitating open channels of communication with patients, their families, other departments, physicians and ancillary personnel.
Responsible for coordinating, preparing and analyzing weekly and/or monthly reports, as needed and/or required for the Nursing Department.
Experience and Requirements
MSN required
Current, valid Ohio nursing license.
Trauma informed care experience
Minimum five-year's experience in the behavioral health field
Minimum three-year's management experience.
Minimum three-year's supervision experience.
Experience with Joint Commission accreditation and local agencies compliance standards.
