Job Description
Weatherford is hiring an Senior Manufacturing Specialist for our Wallingford facility. This is a hands-on, rewarding role for the oil and gas industry. The Senior Manufacturing Specialist will be working within a supportive, inclusive team in a fast-paced, progressive environment. Develop and facilitate the introduction of new cost-effective processes, equipment and methods. Coordinate the orderly transition and installation of new processes and/or methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Evaluate production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Know and understand Weatherford's Enterprise Excellence Program and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
- May enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
- May direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production or processing of goods, such as inspectors, machine setters, and fabricators.
- Read and analyses charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports, in order to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
- Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
- Observe work, and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Set up part numbers and product structures in Windchill and assure they upload into JD Edwards correctly.
- Establish and maintain standard routings, work order files, standard costs for products and MRP reports and inventor orders.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
- Travel to and oversee specific MFG requirements conducted at critical supplier locations
- Conduct In-person Inspection and witnessing of specialized 3rd party process steps to ensure compliance to specific engineering & quality specifications
- Where applicable, ensure Customer Inspection and Test Plans are communicated to suppliers and followed while product is at supplier locations as part of product Quality assurance requirement.
- Lead Critical supplier audits for identified vendors supplying specialized products
- Maintain and manage NCRs (internal and external) up to and including disposition for designated product families as directed by plant or quality management.
- Responsible to ensure work instructions reflect current manufacturing processes, working with engineering to make necessary revisions on missing or inaccurate steps, ECN's, etc.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Qualifications
- 8+ years related experience with Technical/College or 15 years of manufacturing/machining and training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers in production.
- Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and Access) JD Edwards/Windchill a plus.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineer or Technology
- Supervisory experience.
