The Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Board-certified / eligible General Surgeon faculty member to join our practice at the Assistant, Associate or Senior Member level. Specifically, we are seeking a general surgery trained individual, with interest and expertise in management of acute general surgery needs for our oncologic patients; MD degree or equivalent is required. The scope of the position includes inpatient acute surgical care of oncology patients across the institution, with opportunities for growth of a general surgery practice supporting elective general surgery needs of patients with cancer. Prior clinical practice focused on General Surgery and/or Acute Care Surgery and experience in an oncology setting is strongly preferred. Additional training is not required although fellowship training in Acute Care Surgery and/or Surgical Oncology is preferred. This is a new position created to support a recently established Acute Care/General Surgery service geared to support general surgery needs of all oncology patients, primarily based at our Magnolia campus. The selected individual will join an established Surgeon and 2 APPs who currently provide this service from within the bigger GI Surgery group. This position includes an opportunity to grow an academic program. - MD or Equivalent
- Board certified (or eligible) in General Surgery
- Florida Medical License
- Completed Fellowship in Acute Care Surgery or Surgical Oncology
- DEA License
- ACLS as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff
