R.J. Burnside & Associates Limited is currently seeking an experienced, driven, performance-oriented Project Manager to join our Water & Wastewater Vertical Infrastructure team.
As a Project Manager at Burnside, you will play a pivotal role in leading projects that involve assessment, planning, study, design, approval and construction administration of municipal and some private sector water and wastewater infrastructure.
This position offers the flexibility to be based out of one of several office locations, including Mississauga, Guelph, Collingwood, Hamilton, Orangeville, or Woodstock. Occasional travel to other offices is a requirement.

Role Specifics
Reporting to Senior Project Managers, the position will involve carrying out the following tasks, and includes supporting a team of engineers and technicians, to assist in their delivery:
- Project and client management services relating primarily to vertical water and wastewater for the public sector;
- Preparation and tracking of project budgets and schedules;
- Assessment, Planning, study, design, approval and construction administration of water supply, treatment, pumping, storage and distribution projects and wastewater collection, pumping treatment and disposal;
- Directing, coordinating, development and review of design drawings and documents and reports, construction cost estimates etc.;
- Liaising with clients, sub-consultants and contractors;
- Ensuring quality assurance and control practices and policies are followed;
- QA/QC review of project deliverables;
- Collecting, monitoring and evaluating design submissions, cost estimates, and construction schedules from contractors, public agencies, utility companies, and designers;
- Supporting construction inspectors and contract administrators in the field and office;
- Working under the guidance of senior project managers and management staff across the company to develop project management and design skills and to ensure design quality standards are met;
- Collaborating with and contributing to multi-office project teams to ensure project delivery successfully meets the needs of clients;
- Providing engineering support to multi discipline project teams;
- Preparing proposals, project reports, design documents, permit applicationsenvironmental assessment, environmental screening reports and condition assessment reports;
- Coordinating and facilitating approvals from regulating and commenting agencies;
- Ensuring continuity of projects through design, tender and construction phases;
- Mentoring and development of junior and intermediate professionals; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
The following qualifications, experience and skills are required:
- An engineering degree in a related discipline
- Ideally 10 years of related experience
- Multi-disciplinary knowledge of water and wastewater related infrastructure with ability to provide a strategic overview of projects.
- Knowledge of municipal and provincial approval processes as well as relevant agency and industry standards, guideline and best practices
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects concurrently
- Experience with Linear municipal infrastructure design, contract administration and client relationships is an asset but not a requirement
- Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, Civil 3D and MicroStation is an asset
- WaterCAD, InfoWater and SewerCAD modelling is an asset
- MS Office and MS Project
