The Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist provides leadership for all pharmacy clinical activities within assigned area. Completes the goals/objectives encompassing pharmaceutical activities. This position provides support for staff development so that staff meets minimum competency standards. Maintains knowledge of current pharmaceutical practices and policies. The Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist supports management by providing oversight, guidance and support for all assigned areas. This position participates in the planning, organization, implementation and follow up of new programs and activities. The Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist promotes safe, appropriate, and cost effective medication therapy throughout the department.Description

- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required, PharmD degree preferred.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program or a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- 3 or more years of inpatient practice required.
- Alabama Board of Pharmacy license current, or eligible and must obtained within 3 months of position.
- Alabama Board of Pharmacy controlled substance license current or obtained within 3 months in position.
- BCPS or BCPPS upon hire is preferred or working towards attainment of board certification within 2 years of hire date.
- ALBOP parenteral certification within 3 months in position.
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP or attainment within the first 6 months of hire.
- Ability to accurately perform computer order entry duties.
- Proficient in needed pharmaceutical calculations and the metric system.
- Basic knowledge in pharmacokinetic calculations and parenteral nutrition management.
- Knowledge of aseptic technique.
- Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
