Baltimore County Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to assist the County with SQL Server database administration tasks related to High Availability, Cloud technologies, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, security, reporting services, data warehousing, and general day to day database administration tasks.
Maintain, manage and assist in the design of the SQL database environment to supportorganizational needs
Skills/Experience Required
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 8 years of experience installing and configuring SQL Server
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related field with emphasis in the field of database administration and/or data sciences.

Baltimore County Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to assist the County with SQL Server database administration tasks related to High Availability, Cloud technologies, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, security, reporting services, data warehousing, and general day to day database administration tasks.
Maintain, manage and assist in the design of the SQL database environment to supportorganizational needs
- Work to maintain, monitor, and optimize database performance through performance tuning
- Implement and monitor data security standards
- Manage database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications
- Manage production, development, test, and training environments, including data refresh processes
- Setup and manage Always On Availability Groups
- Interact with the Business Intelligence team and SSRS/Power BI environments
- Document processes and develop SOPs and knowledge documents
Skills/Experience Required
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 8 years of experience installing and configuring SQL Server
- Experience administering SQL Server 2016/2017 AlwaysOn Availability Groups
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting experience
- Database task automation, database replication
- Experience performing database upgrades and maintenance
- Experience with SSRS, Power BI, and other analytical toolsets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Resume of candidate with particular emphasis on experience in SQL Server 2016 with AlwaysOn Availability Groups. Resume shall include all degrees, professional certifications, professional society memberships, and related industry credentials.
- At Least two references, including phone numbers, where the candidate performed similar services to those requested above.
