The Account Executiveis responsible to attract, engage, develop, and retain customers within the LTL shipping industry. You are a high energy hunter with knowledge of potential LTL shippers in your geographic market who will place value high quality and service. This person defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates, and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. The Account Executive has boots in the ground mentality with a heavy emphasis on hunting for new business. This role requires implementation of a comprehensive sales strategy, development of a robust pipeline, and consistent conversation of prospects into frequently shipping customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Existing knowledge of the LTL market in your geography including customers that prioritize quality regional carriers in their supply chain.
- Developing, growing, maintaining, and leveraging a network of potential clients.
- Developing and implementing an expert sales strategy that will result in achieving goal attainment.
- Building a robust portfolio that includes both SMB and Corporate customers.
- Prospect as necessary for potential new clients, grow volume and turn this into increased business.
- Creating alignment, optimizing product sales, maximize regional growth and performance, and ensuring customers are satisfied with Company offerings.
- Work with multiple teams to develop proposals that meets client's need, concerns, and objectives.
- Continually investigating and introducing process/customer improvement measures.
- Direct and develop highly collaborative relationships that can drive transformation and innovation for our organization. (Win-Win approach)
- Work closely with the Pricing group to ensure a rate structure is developed that will drive yield.
- Educate Operations on the freight profile, packaging pickup/delivery requirements to ensure we protect the network while adding quality business.
- Manage the onboarding new partnership process from beginning to end.
- Understand network needs and prioritize selling into backhaul lanes.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Several years of sales experience.
- 5+ years of LTL transportation sales experience.
- You have prior experience and a strong track record of success in a role focusing on new customer acquisition.
- You have strong experience in consultative sales and possess the ability to prospect and manage senior-level relationships.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to provide creative solutions and vision relative to closing on targeted strategic accounts.
- You are a strategic thinker & problem solver with the ability to be hands-on.
- Ability to travel, as needed, to other offices/service centers.
