Overview: Geodesicx is looking for an experienced cyber security professional to join our team in support of the USMC Ground Communications effort. The Information Systems Security Specialist III role is pivotal in providing top-tier cybersecurity services for USMC communication systems. This position involves the implementation, management, and enforcement of advanced information security policies to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of USMC communication systems. The specialist will work closely with a dedicated team to ensure compliance with Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic and USMC standards, focusing on mitigating risks and enhancing system security.
Experience: Candidates for the Information Systems Security Specialist position should possess extensive experience in cybersecurity and information assurance. Desired qualifications include:
Cybersecurity Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, incident response, and threat mitigation strategies. Risk Management: Experience in conducting risk assessments, vulnerability scanning, and implementing mitigation strategies. Compliance: Familiarity with DoD and USMC cybersecurity policies, standards, and practices. Technical Proficiency: Understanding of network infrastructure, encryption technologies, and secure communication protocols. Certifications: Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, or equivalent. Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze security systems and identify vulnerabilities. Communication: Strong communication skills for collaborating with IT teams, stakeholders, and government officials.

Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or managerial related discipline or High School Diploma or GED. Individual shall meet the latest Cybersecurity workforce certification/training in accordance with DoD 8570.1M and subsequent DoD 8140 manual, as applicable.
