The Pharmacist practice is a dynamic patient-oriented health service that applies a scientific body of knowledge to improve and promote patient health by means of appropriate drug use, drug-related therapy, and communication for clinical and consultative purposes. Accountabilities Include:
Performs Essential Job Duties
- Serves patients by preparing medications, giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care team, and monitoring patient drug therapies.
- Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Dispenses medication by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions.
- Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflows, verifying their preparation, and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and request for health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
- Develops staff pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs and training pharmacy staff, students, interns, and health care professionals.
- Complies with state, federal, state board of pharmacy, drug enforcement administration and food and drug administration laws.
- Maintains records for controlled substances and removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
- Supervises the work results for support personnel.
- Maintains infection control policies and procedures
- Adheres to all safety practices to ensure patient safety.
Additional Duties:
- Performs other job duties, as assigned.
- Completes assigned training via La Clinicals learning module system (Relias) by required due date.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Minimum: Active Oregon Pharmacist License, PharmD preferred
- Minimum of 2-5 years pharmacy experience required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy operations, pricing, inventory, and billing systems.
- Excellent process improvement skills and be able to understand health center functions, operations, and organizational culture.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication skills, critical thinking skills, meticulous documentation skills, the ability to handle stressful situations, and the capacity to function independently.
- Ability to earn the trust and develop strong relationships with others, internally and externally.
Preferred:
- Prior experience working with 340b programs and Federally Qualified Health Centers
- Experience with managed care, ACOs, PBMs and risk bearing entities
- Experience in the use of information technology and ability to organize, analyze and synthesize complex data from various sources.
- Experience and/or good working knowledge of Six Sigma, LEAN, etc. a plus.
- Skilled at using electronic health records as applicable to area of work (EPIC).
