Overview
The Associate Vice President, Traffic Operations is responsible for leading teams of engineers and technical professionals for the Traffic Operations division. This role will oversee various facets of the Traffic Operations team including TIA's, signalization plans, intersection improvement plans, turn lane improvements, and traffic studies.
Responsibilities
Provides guidance and direction to project design team by managing workload, scheduling, project timeline, QA/QC, and other tasks as needed within the scope of a project
Supports the professional and technical development of the team by providing oversight and constructive feedback on project deliverables
Pursues and wins contracts within the State and various municipalities
Presents new ideas and techniques to clients and stakeholders
Supports efforts in proposal development (private and public), project scoping, and the development of client relationships
Tracks budgets using financial metrics
Participates in professional associations and attends industry networking events
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Texas
15+ years multi-discipline experience in traffic engineering, with experience in managing teams of 10 or more employees
Ability to manage multiple work assignments and/or contracts for multiple clients simultaneously
Ability to technically and professionally mentor members of project team
Ability to remain flexible to changing client demands
Ability to act independently when responding to project needs.
Exceptional ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with employees and clients
Must be able to work 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday with overtime, as needed
