Summary

The Director of Data Engineering will be leading a team of professionals working with the latest software development framework building full stack web applications, modern data pipelines, and building a microservices based application ecosystem.

What you'll be doing

• Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Software and Data Engineers.
• Manage and deliver projects and resources aligned with our strategic objectives.
• Lead the design and development of data pipelines and web-based internet and intranet applications.
• Provide technical leadership to build next generation microservices based applications.
• Liaison with business units on key software and data development initiatives,
• Interface and communicate with management team and senior executives across the firm.
• Work in close cooperation with Data Architect, Cloud Architect, CRM Team and Cloud Operations Team delivering new applications and services to the business.

Skills we're seeking

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of Software and/or Data Engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Modern DevOps
• Strong experience with AWS
• Strong experience with Python
• Strong experience with databases
• Experience with Apache Spark, PySpark, AWS Glue and Hadoop

Nice to have experience

• Knowledge of bootstrap, require.js, and SCSS
• Data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, Sisense, etc.
• Experience in the financial services industry
