Description:
We are seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee the Accounting & Finance department's day-to-day operations including special projects, and accounting software. In addition, the Controller will maximize profits by establishing policies and procedures that are designed to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of reported financial results, and ensure compliance with accounting principles. The incumbent will work with Management to facilitate the achievement of budget objectives for total sales, profitability, and return on investment while maintaining company standards.
Responsibilities Day-to-day operations of the accounting and finance department
Banking and cash management
Reporting and financial statements
Directs the preparation of annual reports
Corporate forecasting and budgeting
Develops and enhances internal control systems
Develops and manages cost controls
Preserves an efficient accounting system
Supports and liaises with the General Manager Executives, and Owners in meeting the strategic goals of the organization
Ensures the highest standards in accounting and federal and provincial regulatory requirements
Creates and ensures compliance of accounting policies and procedures
Performs duties as primary liaison for auditors
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Designation
Strong accounting knowledge to handle a complete accounting cycle in a centralized environment
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high-level of attention to detail
Self-motivated and able to manage people and processes
Excels in the area of customer support for internal/external customers; demonstrates professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidential information
Impeccable integrity and ethics. Trustworthy and discrete
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Above average with computerized accounting systems
Strong analytical skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities
Exceptionally well-organized, able to adapt quickly to competing and changing priorities while closely monitoring critical dates and departmental obligations
