Responsibilities
Review all patient charts and health history prior to providing any treatment.
Observe, evaluate, and apply knowledge of dental skills to the patients.
Work cooperatively with the dental team, providing care in that setting, including supervising a full dental team.
Accurately record all procedures and pertinent information in the patient records.
Provide individualized care to each patient.
Assist in managing support personnel.
Supervise dental assistants, dental hygienists, associate dentists, and administrative staff, and communicate with support staff regarding patient care plans
Show patients how to use recommended devices for orthodontics and dental appliances, such as retainers and dentures and educate on the importance of good oral hygiene
Issue referral for the client to dental specialists, such as pediatric dentists, orthodontists, endodontists, and periodontists when appropriate
Assess the patients' overall dental health and look for presence of dental diseases, by thoroughly examining the patients' teeth using diagnostic tools, procedures, and instruments
Implement and coordinate preventive dental care treatments such as flossing, fillings, sealants, x-rays, and fluoride applications, and cosmetic dental services such as whitening when indicated
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have completed an accredited pediatric dental program and have a specialty pediatric dental license in the state of Minnesota or Wisconsin.
Current and unrestricted state license in good standing
A minimum of two years of dentistry experience in clinical or private practice is required
Board Certified and/or Board Eligible in Dentistry
Requires CPR, BLS, and NPI certifications
