SUMMARY: Reporting to the President, this position has three main areas of responsibility: 1) Collaborate with Executive Leadership to facilitate and develop ProLift's corporate strategy, integration, and deployment to drive continuous improvement and superior execution through Hoshin Kanri and Lean tools. 2) Leads the organization's internal Lean journey and overall business improvement initiatives. 3) Develops and directs customer Lean consultancy and is a credible senior expert that helps customers apply the culture and principles of Toyota Lean Management.

Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Corporate Strategy and Project Management

  • Identifies, develops, and implements strategies that improve business operations, create growth opportunities, and increase market share.
  • Leads the strategic planning and execution deployment activity for the ProLift enterprise through Hoshin Kanri
  • Enhance ProLift's ability to drive toward targeted objectives for both strategy and daily management through influence across all levels of the organization
  • Ownership of strategy communication, consolidation, and alignment as well as cadence of accountability for leaders toward committed results
  • Act as a continuous improvement leader across all functions of the business in establishing program/project management methodologies towards business improvement
  • Applies Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) and TLM methodologies to daily work and coaches in this manner


Internal Lean Activity

  • Develops and facilitates ASEC sustainment activity within the branch locations, working with branch leadership to maintain a consistent, optimum 5-S operating condition, and shortening re-certification time and cost
  • Builds trust with Champions and Leaders in order to facilitate continuous improvement culture (kaizen)
  • Leads ProLift Lean Champions to execute according to TMH TLM Advisor's recommendations. Follows the TLM roadmap to train and support Champions and Leaders to implement 5S, Standard Work, Visual Management, Just In Time, Jidoka, KPI management -- shop and office
  • Prepares and leads process discovery and requirement workshops - process or value stream mapping - with key stakeholders to identify current condition and improvement opportunities to gain efficiency, sustainability
  • Partner with local branch locations to develop a repeatable "Lean Tour" for all customer events that would be conducted by key stakeholders at each branch


Customer Facing Lean Activity

  • Develops the dealership strategy and alignment toward TLM customer facing deliverables in order to provide customized continuous improvement solutions for "market movers", creating a competitive advantage
  • Collaborates with Sales Leadership and Teams (Material Handling/Aftermarket/Warehouse Solutions) relative to strategy deployment, synergies and handoffs that best support our customers, resulting in company growth
  • Provides both Lean classroom instruction and both strategic and tactical Lean improvement advice in the actual workplace at large customer sites with a cost recovery or revenue stream
  • Clearly articulates and applies complicated Lean concepts to solve problems - regardless of customer industry
  • Leverages experience to coach customers - executives and managers - to build and lead Lean culture and business improvement implementation/transformations
  • Design and tailor custom proposals toward customer Lean journey, best practice processes, team development
  • Develops and supports the tactical customer implementation execution by the Lean team. Ensures all processes related to deliverables to customers are complete, consistent, high quality, timely
  • Maintains customer relationships by delivering value add to their business needs
  • Juggles multiple complex projects or initiatives and customer deliverables concurrently
  • Responsible for Lean team career development, succession planning, and maintaining the organization to support the business needs into the future


Working Conditions and Abilities (including but not limited to):

  • Work around exhaust fumes, gas, diesel, solvents, paint, thinners, etc- occasionally?
  • Work around noisy conditions in shop- occasionally Push/ pull objects up to 50lbs. -- occasionally
  • Perform simple motor skills such as standing, walking, climbing stairs, etc.- constantly

Education/Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or Work Experience Equivalent

  • Certified in Lean Principles and Concepts
  • 7-10 years' experience in Management required, 3-5 years Material Handling industry preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in supervising personnel
  • Previous experience managing Hoshin Kanri initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and kaizen events
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be well organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely fashion
  • Strong communication skills, customer service, and administrative skills
  • Excellent analytical skills in problem analysis and systems development
  • Occasional Travel Required within CSC's (APR) Area of Prime Responsibility
