JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: MT MANUFACTURING
ENGINEER II


Department: Manufacturing Technology Status: Exempt

SUMMARY:

Function:

A. Plans and
implements engineering processes bases on TOK methods and systems, involving
raw materials and equipment, to ensure high-quality production at minimum cost
for the various stages of manufacturing.

B. Assists in
the transfer of pilot scale processes within the MT group and from TOK-J
R&D and TOK-A ESD to manufacturing for high volume manufacturing.

C. Performs
engineering development and feasibility studies for new business opportunities
as received from the BD group, which includes low volume, pilot scale, and high
volume manufacturing

D. Solves
technical problems related to the low volume, pilot scale, and high volume
manufacturing, using experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

E. Performs
a variety of complicated tasks related to the various manufacturing
processes.

Scope: Solve advanced
technical problems associated with the low volume, pilot scale, and high volume
manufacturing processes for new and current business opportunities related to
raw materials, intermediate products, final products, equipment, and
containers. Use experience and judgment
to plan, accomplish goals, perform a variety of complicated tasks related to
the low volume, pilot scale, and high volume manufacturing process for new and
current manufacturing processes.

DUTIES:

Typical

1. Evaluation and
design of manufacturing layout and facilities for low volume, pilot scale, and
high volume manufacturing.

2. Solution of
technical problems in the manufacturing process, and standardization of
manufacturing equipment and processes.

3. Evaluation and
improvement of manufacturing processes to reduce manufacturing costs and
enhance safety.

4. Transfer of
manufacturing equipment and processes to MT and manufacturing group to support
new and existing business opportunities including instruction, documentation,
and training.

5. Evaluation and
determination of the specifications for raw materials, intermediate products,
final products, containers, packages and
labels which are required to support new business opportunities and
existing manufacturing processes.

6. Design,
development, and evaluation of formulations / processes required for new
business opportunities at low volume and pilot scale.

7. Perform
feasibility studies of new business opportunities and transferred products from
TOK-A ESD and TOK-J R&D for low volume, pilot scale, and high volume
manufacturing based on cost, equipment, resources, price targets, etc.

8. Instruction of the usage and the maintenance method of
the facilities and equipment to the manufacturing departments, especially in
the introduction of new equipment.

9. Pursue activities
for continuous improvement related to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

10. Performance of other related duties related to the
smooth operation as of the facility as required, including cleaning and general
housekeeping.

Periodical

Attending annual and/or quarterly refresher courses related
to hazardous waste management and handling, general safety, quality management,
and environmental management.

SUPERVISION:

Receives:

Minimal supervision is provided by the department
supervisory team. (Manger and Deputy General Manager).

EDUCATION:

B.S or M.S degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent
education.

EXPERIENCE:

Desired Experience: minimum 5 years' experience as a process
/ manufacturing engineer (1 year as a development / integration engineer is
desired, but not required).

Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
Lotus Notes.

Knowledge of statistical techniques such as Statistical
Process Control and Design of Experiments is required.

REQUIRED PERSONAL
SKILLS:


1. Maintain ISO
document and record control.

2. Ability to
effectively communicate in English (both oral and written).

3. Have stable,
verifiable work history with excellent attendance record.

4. Must be
comfortable working with chemicals including, but not limited to, corrosives
and organic solvents.

WORKING
CONDITIONS:


There is a potential for exposure to hazardous conditions
and/or materials. Personnel must be
capable of performing duties while wearing, safety glasses and/or goggles, and
other personal protective equipment that may include clean room apparel.

OTHER:

Personnel must successfully complete a program of on-site
classroom instruction or on-the-job training that teaches them to perform their
duties in a way that ensures compliance with all job requirements. Prior
experience and/or certification that can be verified will be considered in
evaluating training requirements.

Additional tasks, as assigned related to smooth facility
operations many include but are not limited to, support the activities of the
Environmental Health and Safety Committee and actively promotion of safety and
pollution prevention activities.

FURTHER JOB
REQUIREMENTS:


Candidate will need to be able to work various shifts and
hours as needed.

Candidate must have a reliable means of transportation to
and from the work site.

Qualifications

Would need 5 years experience and comfortable working with chemicals
