PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall integrity of the general ledger, which entails ensuring the proper assignment of all general account numbers and reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts. Reviews monthly company reports required for financial reporting, internally and externally to ensure completeness and accuracy. Assists other members of the accounting department and within the company in identifying/researching account transactions. Reports to the Controller.
DESCRIPTION
Assists in the day to day activities and month end process to insure the integrity of the general ledger. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Analyze Revenues, COGS, Commissions and Expenses to insure they are recorded appropriately.
Preparation of variance analysis to assist with resolution of General Ledger account discrepancies.
Preparation of variance analysis to assist with resolution of A/R, and A/P sub-ledger irregularities.
Prepare and review month end general ledger and financial reports for assigned region.
Prepare monthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts.
Coordinates month-end close process for assigned region according to the monthly closing schedule.
Assists in the budget and forecasting processes.
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
Responsible for insuring that all activities are documented properly so that we are J-Sox compliant.
Responsible for accounting projects that will be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance and 7+ years general ledger experience.
Accounting background including General Ledger, AR, AP, account reconciliation, month end close activities, and financial analysis.
Experience with Oracle business software.
Thorough understanding of sales and manufacturing functions.
Proficient in Windows-based PC software packages including spreadsheet and word processing
(Excel and Word, etc.)
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, and proven problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and work independently.
