Terra Nova Solutions provides waste, industrial and remedial solutions to several, private sector industries in the eastern and midwestern US including manufacturing, engineering, chemical, transportation, retail, and distributed energy. Terra Nova services an impressive, growing client base and the ISM will support growth with existing and new clientele.
The Industrial Service Manager (ISM) reports to the Senior Vice President of Operations and manages all elements of industrial service engagements for the location including all sales and operations activity. The ISM works closely with operational teams including Project, General and Operations Managers, in several locations to manage the scope, schedule, and budget elements of individual industrial service engagements. The ISM is responsible for visiting job sites, scoping service work, developing estimates and proposals and ultimately leading field crews in the execution of industrial and waste management service events.
The ISM is also responsible for working collaboratively within the Company's Health and Safety Management System and performs Health and Safety leadership functions as part of her/his daily work routine. The ISM, with the support of other Terra Nova team members, leads crews in the performance of a wide range of industrial services in conjunction with the Company's waste management service line.
Essential Duties
Schedule incoming work to with talent and equipment and ensure sufficient support for all engagements is constantly maintained Ensure production schedules are met; troubleshoots issues with input from operational colleagues and perform corrective measures where needed Visit job sites on a routine basis to support quality elements Work closely with operations team to match personnel skill sets to the required skill set for each job Coordinate closely and regularly with managers from other regions to ensure
optimal labor and equipment resource allocation Forecast resource needs 1-3 weeks in advance and stay well ahead of labor needs by performing constant recruiting. Support the logistical operations of the Company while managing project-level functions related to labor, internal equipment, rental equipment, specialty materials, and waste processing throughout the company's service territory Assist senior management including participation in equipment and capital expenditure programs, budgeting, forecasting, etc.

Essential Duties
- Without exception, prioritize workplace health & safety before all other business elements
- Directly manage all aspects of assigned service engagements providing specialized industrial and waste management services and perform all logistical support required in support of best-in-class operations.
- Support and play an active role in the Company's Health and Safety management system including hazard communication, tracking, near-miss documentation, audits, and training.

- Participate and collaborate with other team members in all "get work" activities including site walks, estimating support, resource collaboration and proposals.
- Review project level invoices and coordinate with the Company's accounting team in the timely and accurate development of invoices.
- Produce project-level deliverables including submittals, schedules, invoices, and other certifications as may be required.
- Assist the leadership team in the management of all project-level risks including Health and Safety commercial/ contract risks and liabilities.
- Maintain an unwavering commitment to the adherence of all state, local, and federal environmental laws and regulations.
- Assist the management team in the development of project-level staff by leading and or supporting company/division-wide initiatives.
- Provide information to the SVP in support of all company KPI's and other goal-related efforts
- Cultivate and maintain exceptionally strong customer and vendor /partner relationships
Qualifications
- Minimum of seven years of experience in either the environmental, industrial and /or waste service industries.
- Mid-level technical knowledge of most (80%) of Terra Nova's current service offerings with respect to equipment selection, means and methods, pricing, compliance, Health, and Safety, etc.
- Demonstrated success in managing or supervising environmental, industrial or waste projects in a safe fashion during the last four years.
- Proven ability to motivate teams and work well within group team settings.
- Ability to travel to project sites on a semi-regional basis for up to 1-2 days at a time.
- Must be a creative, problem-solver; be resourceful and have attention to detail.
- Must be comfortable working in a dynamic business setting , accustomed to managing tight deadlines and have ability to self-manage nontraditional work schedules.
- Ability to handle operational and client-related challenges quickly, calmly, and effectively.
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine desire to work as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to professionally manage project staff.
- Able to effectively and professionally work with site supervisors and others and motivate team members to get results and achieve targets.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Willing to obtain OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Worker Training, Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC), OSHA 8-Hour Refresher Training, and OSHA 8-Hour Supervisory Training.
- Must meet all Terra Nova pre-employment requirements, including MVR policy, and maintain Motor Vehicle Record that meets policy requirements during employment
