The Key Account Manager, following the sales strategy, will work with existing customers and identify and develop new customer contacts. This position will be responsible for generating value-added sales of engineered, product-focused assemblies and molded products. This role requires exceptional communication skills, as the candidate will interact with client Engineering and Purchasing Departments in a professional and engineering-oriented manner.
Key Tasks:
- Develop the sales strategy within the market and the accounts that supports the ASYST Strategic Plan
- Set growth and margin objectives for key customer accounts
- Develop growth plan, annual forecasts and monthly project updates for the assigned accounts
- Communicate the full range of ASYST expertise to include design, production, quality, delivery and competitive pricing to designated customers
- Arrange meetings on purchasing and engineering contacts to increase ASYST sales to existing and new customers
- Schedule customer visits in order to build a sound and professional business relationship
- Develop contacts throughout the entire customer organization identifying a champion in key departments.
- Determine customer requirements including design considerations, quality, price, and delivery
- As required, travel to global customer locations to support the ASYST strategic plan
- Professionally administer to the territory with correspondence, quotations, prototypes, production, order change notices (OCN), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), customer documents, and any other support necessary
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of technical sales experience
- Demonstrated success managing relationships within the automotive industry
- Track record of success in delivering sales growth results
- Ability to explore new markets
- Knowledge of OEM testing procedures, as well as approval and PPAP processes
- Engineering, Marketing or Business Degree required
- A proven ability to build strong business relationships
- Exceptional negotiation skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Forward-thinking, innovative, and proactive customer-focused mindset
- Capability to travel globally (up to 25% travel required)
