Occupational Therapist (OT)

In this position you will primarily provide acute care in our 16 bed hospital, but may also have the opportunity to provide care for outpatients. Our outpatient caseload is adults and older adults and you will enjoy 45-minute outpatient evaluation and treatment times. In 2024, we are moving to a salary model with a clinical ladder with the potential for additional compensation for professional achievement.   • Responsible for providing safe and effective Occupational Therapy services by implementing appropriate evaluation, treatment, and education, designed to meet the identified needs and functional goals of the patient. Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, families/caregivers, and team members. Promotes teamwork.
• DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
  
  • The Rehabilitation teams at Samaritan evaluate and treat patients with injuries or conditions that have caused either a decline in self-care, physical mobility or functional independence. Enjoy a dynamic and supportive therapy environment and professional camaraderie. We have a large and well equipped outpatient therapy department associated with a critical access hospital. In this position, your caseload will be approximately 90% adult inpatient, and 10% adult outpatient. Additional hours/work may be able to be coordinated with other hospitals and clinics in our Samaritan system
• EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
  
  • Current unencumbered Oregon Occupational Therapist license required.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS required.

  • Therapy and Counseling - Possess the skills and knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and cognitive conditions. Ability to provide counseling and guidance.
  • Business Writing - Strong business writing skills, including the ability to professionally communicate clinical content in written documentation that is easily understood by the end user.
  • Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas.
