Mission or Goal of Unit: Themission of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department is to provide the highestquality clinical care in both general and specialty Obstetrics and Gynecologyto central Virginia. In addition to the clinical mission, the department hasthe allied goals of providing undergraduate and graduate medical education inthe field and advancing the field through basic and clinical research.

Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Obstetrics andGynecology is seeking qualified candidates to support the addiction medicine section within the general OB/GYN Division and serve as the Section Head for Addiction Medicine at VCU Health. This position is also designed to providecare in general Obstetrics and Gynecology, including surgery, inpatient andoutpatient consultation and performance of therapeutic procedures. Thisposition will include participation in student and resident education as wellas in the department's clinical research activities.
Position Responsibilities:
Teaching
The faculty member will have teaching responsibilities to include activelyparticipating in the department's educational activities, with particularattention to educating students and residents in their core educationalobjectives in general obstetrics and gynecology.
Research
The person filling this position is encouraged to initiate clinical researchprojects. They are expected to participate in and facilitate other departmentresearch and contribute to scholarly publications/presentations.
Service
The faculty member will serve on departmental, health system, and universitycommittees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field.The faculty member will be assigned to committees at the discretion of thedivision director and department chair.
Clinical
Full participation in the clinical activities of the general obstetrics andgynecology division is expected. Clinical activities are to be determined bythe general obstetrics and gynecology division head and are expected to includea combination of clinic, inpatient care, surgery, and participation innighttime call duties as appropriate.
Other
The faculty member will participate in department and institutionaladministrative activities as assigned by the division head and the departmentchair.

Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
- Completion of training in OB/GYN residency program
- Clinical experience in Addiction Medicine
- Virginia medical license or eligibility for license
- Potential for scholarship or creative expression to complement and expand existing expertise in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of an ACGME accredited OB/GYN residency
- Demonstrated talent and experience in teaching and commitment to research, and patient care
- BC/BE by the American Board of OB/GYN
