SALARY RANGE $68,266 - $111,426

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Develop, plan, coordinate, facilitate, document, and evaluate regulatory and risk activities.
  • Identify and review potentially compensable events with attorney instruction.
  • Facilitate internal survey program for clinical and other health care processes.
  • Provide just-in-time support to staff on routine risk management, liability, accreditation, and regulatory questions.
  • Monitor and develop patient behavior plans.
  • Support and maintain a collaborative culture with other hospital departments and staff in managing risk and accreditation issues.
  • Participate as a representative on behalf of Risk Management & Regulatory Affairs on assigned hospital committees. Lead projects, committees, and programs, as assigned.
  • Relate to patients, staff, and providers in providing information, maintaining control functions, and acquiring information necessary for managing clinical risk, policy development, and accreditation activity.
  • Coordinate closely with other Office of Clinical Effectiveness sections to ensure alignment with patient safety and quality initiatives.
  • Facilitate regulatory onsite and remote accreditation and complaint survey activities. Serve as a liaison between the organization and regulatory authorities in the process of obtaining approval or clearance for processes, procedures, and changes.
  • Prepare reports and provide data analysis needed to comply with clinical, environmental, and privacy compliance regulations.
  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the development and review of relevant and required policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Support the preparation, assembly, and review of all regulatory submissions to various regulatory agencies. Determine the types of regulatory submission or internal documentation required.
  • Assure compliance with corporate, federal, state, and industry guidelines and laws by keeping up to date with changes in laws and regulations.
  • May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in business, health care, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.

Four (4) years of relevant experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification by the American Hospital Association (AHA), or successful completion of Healthcare Accreditation Certification Program (HACP) by the CIHQ-HACP.

Five (5) years of experience in health care risk management or accreditation.
