Job Description
As a Payroll Tax Manager you will have significant influence in building a next generation, highly efficient, low cost payroll system. You will be redefining what it means to be a PEO.
As a successful candidate in this role you possess a strong ability to see ideas for improvement instituted in near real-time. You are also collaborative as this role requires you to be working across departments including but not limited to (Account Management, Engineering, and Product). You are also able to manage high pressure situations with ease and a great demeanor. This is a high impact job that is critical to the day-to-day operations and we are looking for a true team player to thrive in this fast-paced, high intensity environment.
What you'll do:
-Responsible for daily payroll and tax processing
-Ensure accurate tax withholding, accruals, payments, tax returns, and W-2 reporting.
-Monitor state unemployment tax accounts, payments and tax returns for all 50 states, to ensure taxes are accurate and are paid and filed on time
-Respond to and resolve any employee issues, tax notices or tax audits for state unemployment taxes.
-Direct quarterly and annual tax filing process
-Research and communicate information about current and proposed payroll tax legislation and company procedures to ensure compliance and customer understanding.
-Support internal control compliance initiatives, testing and remediation. Ensure that payroll tax processes and procedures are updated.
-Special projects as assigned by VP Compliance
Qualifications
You should have:
-7 to 10 years of general payroll/payroll tax experience
-Working knowledge of payroll tax regulation as well as general knowledge of taxable fringe benefits
-Ability to perform multiple tasks, in high paced and fluid environment
-BS/BA required (Business/Accounting a plus).
-Multi-state payroll tax filing / payroll and workers compensation audit experience
-Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills including ability to work with all levels of Management.
-Previous management experience required
