Web/Mobile UI Developer/Designer
XL Hybrids seeks a UI developer with some UI/UX design experience to help create dazzling, functional
web and mobile applications for our commercial hybrid customers. As UI Developer/Designer at XL
Hybrids, you will work with a small team of engineers to build and maintain rich and responsive
applications for web and mobile using cutting-edge, open-source technology. Our ideal candidate
could be a coder that is passionate about design and good user experience, or a designer who doesn't
mind rolling up their sleeves to dig into the code and turn their designs into the final product. If you
are passionate about creating compelling user experiences, love breaking down complicated
workflows and data sets into elegantly visualized and simple to use tools, and enjoy Friday afternoon
barbeques, then you will feel right at home on our team.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with a small, agile team of engineers and stakeholders.
Design and help build responsive user interfaces for mobile and web.
Champion user experience and provide final word on design in a team of engineers that may
be more interested in the elegance of the software architecture and CPU usage than usability.
Some image manipulation, icon and button design, etc.
Candidate will report to the Cloud Engineering Manager
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of experience designing and building customer-facing mobile and web applications
that support multiple, complex activities.
Experience with image manipulation and design software tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive layout and modern web UI construction
techniques.
Some experience with modern JavaScript UI frameworks and development practices.
4-year degree or equivalent experience.
Must be able to work full time in XL Hybrids' Boston office
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with data visualization techniques.
Experience with AngularJS, D3, contemporary charting and mapping APIs
