- You have Completed of the RECA licensing course for Mortgage Brokers and are eligible to be licensed.
- You have a strong interest in the financial service industry.
- You are naturally inclined to take initiative independently; you are resourceful and like staying up-to-date.
- You are detail oriented, organized, and able to multi-task. You understand the significance of these skills.
- You demonstrate an "other-focused" approach to people and are willing to serve them with a smile, even when conflict arises.
- You possess better-than-average computer skills - your typing skills are up there with the best of them!
- You are able to communicate effectively - verbally, in writing, and spoken.
- You are able to work at a quick pace under pressure; possess time management skills.
- Strong computer skills are a must - the ability to use our systems which are primarily web-based is key. Other computer skills like Google Docs, Docusign, Adobe PDF, database and other technical skills.
- You understand the value of additional services to your client and are able to easily and happily cross-sell and refer
- Communicating with prospective mortgage clients, answering questions, and soliciting their business
- Obtaining, organizing and compiling information pertaining to client application, such as income verification, down payment verification, credit information and property information, in order to facilitate transactions between prospective mortgage borrowers and mortgage lenders.
- Offering related products like Mortgage Life Insurance, home and auto insurance and related investment products to prospective customers
- Managing referral relationships
- Maintaining relationships and coordinating with law firms, Realtors, appraisal firms, registry offices etc.
- Obtaining title searches, appraisals, and purchase contracts
- Using a customer relationship management process and tools to ensure high levels of client satisfaction
- Staying current with regards to interest rates and lender policies, as well as industry regulations
- Electronic filing of compliance documents accurately and in due time
- Process and system optimization - building on the foundation of processes that we have and finding new ways to improve them.
