Lumenance is seeking qualified engineers with experience designing wire harnesses and packaging electromechanical items in transportation applications (e.g. automotive, aerospace, specialty vehicles).
This position is in Torrance, CA. Lumenance will sponsor any qualified candidate's work visa upon selection. Remote work may be an option, however, it is expected that this position will require the person to eventually be in the Torrance, CA area.

Job duties:
- Independently develop professional, manufacturable, cost effective wire harness designs
- Interface with vehicle or equipment electrical system designers to ensure basic electrical requirements are understood and implemented
- Develop wire harness routing designs in 3D using CATIA V5. This includes ensuring all harnesses are routed safely and securely and properly connect to applicable electrical units and mating harnesses
- Develop clear, readable wire harness drawings (in CATIA V5) conforming to customer and industry drafting standards
- Interface with wire harness suppliers to address Design for Manufacturability issue
- Design brackets and other mounting fixtures to secure wire harnesses and related electromechanical devices in the vehicle
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline
- Above average ability to use CATIA V5/V6 for the design of wire harnesses and related components (e.g. brackets)
- Solid grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering principles applicable to the design of wire harnesses and vehicle electrical systems
- Able to professionally interface with system designers, software designers, and electrical test personal to ensure electrical system functional requirements are achieved for the project
- Able to interface with other functional areas (interior, engine, transmission, etc) to ensure their design constraints are understood and properly considered when designing a harness
- Must be able to communicate in English in a technical environment (both written and oral)
- Must be able and willing to take initiative to get the job done. You will be working long hours as required to meet critical project deadlines.
- Ability to design plastic and stamped parts independently
- Basic FEA skills (modal analysis)
