DUTIES:
1. Lead the qualification and certification efforts of new and legacy products to North American and International standards.
2. Create, manage, and execute test plans to take a product from prototype through attaining a certification mark.
3. Perform hands on testing in safety, EMC, and grid interface areas.
4. Create test descriptions and fill out reports for certification decisions.
5. Direct Engineering Technicians to perform tests in the lab.
6. Participate in third party agency audits for Engineering labs to ISO 17025
7. Conduct regular training classes for engineering teams on test methods.
8. Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
BSEE, BSCE, BSME with 3 years related experience minimum.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
1. Experience testing Power Inverters/converters, drives, and/or transformers.
2. Experience with UL1741, IEEE 1547, UL1699B, IEC 62109, and/or CEC.
3. Experience with test measurement equipment such as Scopes, power analyzers, Differential Voltage probes, Current Transformers and thermos-couples.
4. Excellent background with building manual and automated test fixtures
5. Knowledge of Grid Interconnect requirements such as Rule 21, Rule 14H, Smart grid functions, etc.
6. Prior experience with ISO 17025 (Data Acceptance Program, Satellite lab, etc.)
7. Hands on experience performing product compliance testing.
8. Ability to rapidly gain mastery of new compliance standards as business needs dictate.
9. Outstanding work ethic and positive attitude required.
10. A high level of initiative and a proactive nature.
11. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
12. Strong organizational and time management skills.
13. Ability to work as a leader or individual contributor, depending upon assignment.
14. Occasional travel is required.
