We are seeking a Staff Manufacturing Engineer for the Powertrain Development & Engineering (PDE) team. The Staff Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and automation systems to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including design, R&D, and manufacturing, to ensure the successful development and integration of automation solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, automation, and continuous improvement methodologies. Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Optimization:

o Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.

o Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and process simulations to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.

o Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Automation Systems Development:

o Design, develop, and implement automation systems, including robotics, PLCs, and other control systems.

o Integrate automation solutions into existing manufacturing processes. - Develop and maintain documentation for automation systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and programming code.
Project Management:

o Lead and manage automation projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.

o Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and production, to ensure project success.

o Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Supplier and Vendor Management:

o Interface with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality of manufacturing equipment.

o Evaluate and select suppliers based on capability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

o Collaborate with suppliers on the development and customization of automation solutions.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

o Provide technical support for manufacturing and automation systems.

o Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automation equipment and processes.

o Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for automation equipment.
Compliance and Safety:

o Ensure all automation systems and manufacturing processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

o Conduct risk assessments and develop safety protocols for automation equipment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering and automation, preferably in EV.
Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a must.
Strong knowledge of automation technologies, including robotics, sensors, and control systems.
Profound knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, and testing techniques.
Experience with process optimization, statistical analysis, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong project management skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid's equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$140,000-$205,000 USD
