Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs - Family Medicine
Administrative Responsibilities:
The Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs will be the clinician-leader for the DFMPHS, will be instrumental to achieve our overarching goals of effectively and efficiently caring for our patients, supporting our faculty member's clinical practice, engaging and influencing our clinical partners, and executing our strategic and tactical goals. The Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs will act as a liaison and provide medical oversight to clinical operations that impact DFMPHS services. This person will work within and across disciplines to improve both quality of care and the patient experience and be an expert in key indicators that impact revenue, costs and quality.
Specific duties include:
Supervise the DFMPHS clinical faculty working in our clinical sites.
Provide physician supervision and oversight.
Work collaboratively with health system administration and chair to design and Implement innovative care delivery models to enhance clinical activity, team efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Work with leadership to standardize best practices across all DFMPHS clinic sites.
Lead the efforts to achieve and maintain PCMH designation of clinical sites.
Serve on DFMPHS Executive Leadership and contribute clinical perspective to discussions and decisions for the department.
Work with leadership to develop mutually beneficial alliances and strategic partnerships with community based primary care practices.
Directs clinical program development towards expansion of existing and future private practice sites and partnerships with community practices.
With clinical and department administrators, guides clinical budget development and monitors productivity, revenue and expenses in the clinical area.
Meet regularly with WSUPG administrative leadership to align DFMPHS strategic vision and business development, with the goals of the organization.
Represents DFMPHS at various ambulatory and hospital leadership meetings.
Qualifications:
5+ years progressive administrative experience, academic medical center setting experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge in primary care growth, innovation strategies, business and practice development and fiscal operations
Experience managing physicians and advance practice providers
Experience working collaboratively in a matrix organization
Experience in providing direct primary care medical services
Experience teaching medical or physician assistant students preferred.
Completion of an ACGME accredited Family Medicine residency program and board certification in Family Medicine
Current State of Michigan medical license or eligible for Michigan licensure
Three verbal and written recommendations/references
