POSITION SUMMARY:

Workwith the Assistant Vice President of Engineering to facilitate andmanage the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority's (Aviation Authority)engineering/architecture, development projects, and programs from inceptionthrough final design, bid and award, and provide oversight through constructionand closeout.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor'sdegree related to architecture, building construction, construction managementdisciplines and eight (8) years of aviation related work experience for aconsulting firm, a construction company, a public agency, or an airportauthority in managing the design and construction of small and large scaleprojects or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and workexperience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, management, and negotiation skills
  • Proficient in use of computers and Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of architecture and construction means and methods, and management principles.
  • Knowledge of design, estimating, project and program scheduling
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, conduct research, analyze data and formulate recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to deal tactfully and confidently with internal and external customers
  • Efficient time management method
  • Knowledge of the following areas: Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD);
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS); Building Information Modeling (BIM.)
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills to prioritize and execute tasks to achieve both the organization and project goals
  • Excellent attention to detail and strategic thinking
  • Must be able and willing to work both standard and non-standard work schedules, including weekends to accommodate airport operations
  • Valid Florida driver's license
  • Professional Engineer, Architect, or General Contractor License is desirable
    Certification in a specialty subject area that may benefit the Aviation Authority is desirable
