Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Administrator to support our government customer in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role involves working in a cloud environment platform, primarily built with Java and leveraging Free and Open Source Software products such as Kubernetes, Hadoop, and Accumulo. The Cloud Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability of day-to-day operations, providing customer support, and possessing strong technical and troubleshooting skills.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in system administration, monitoring large distributed systems with specific clustering requirements.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting large-scale cloud computing systems, including familiarity with big data management technologies (e.g., Hadoop, CASSANDRA).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, follow SOPs, and communicate well.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and leverage senior resources for technical growth.
  • Independent work capability on complex tasks and a willingness to educate junior technical resources.
  • Strong planning, communication, and leadership skills for overseeing technical tasks.
  • 3 years of experience in writing software scripts using languages like Bash, Perl, or Python.
  • 5 years of experience with a fundamental understanding of core Linux OS components, including user and group account management in LDAP, DHCP, DNS, and TFTP configurations.
  • Demonstrated experience with configuration management tools like Puppet and SALT.
  • Knowledge of Linux PXE/Network provisioning processes, including Anaconda Kickstart configurations.
  • Experience in accessing and troubleshooting systems remotely and performing hardware diagnosis and repair.
  • Familiarity with overall corporate architecture, openSSL, Java keystore manipulation.
  • Experience with troubleshooting commodity hardware platforms, including SGI/HP hardware.
