Chief Purpose of this position: The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutritionat the Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a Physician Scientist. The incumbent will be responsible for providingclinical services in the Hepatology clinics at VCUHS, to include both clinicson the MCVH campus and in Hepatology outreach locations. The incumbent will also be providing teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in themanagement of patients with liver conditions, with specific expertise in thediagnosis and management of chronic liver disorders.

Position Responsibilities:
- Clinical - Provide clinical services in the Hepatology clinics at VCUHS, to include both clinics on the MCVH campus and in outreach locations; participate in the inpatient management of patients with liver conditions.
- Teaching - Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with liver conditions.
- Research- Provide pharma sponsored clinical trials for cholestatic liver disease, and Investigator initiated research on cholestatic liver disease.
Required Qualifications:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
- Must be eligible for medical licensure in theState of Virginia.
- Required to have Basic Science and/or ClinicalResearch experience and dedication to pursue a Physician Scientist track
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diversefaculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a facultymember at VCU.
