Description

We are seeking a highly-organized, detail-oriented, and analytical Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis, creating budgets, forecasts, and projections, and completing various reporting and financial tasks to support data-driven decision-making. This is the right role for you if you are thoughtful in how you critically analyze data and know that the numbers will tell the story. The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

What you'll achieve:

Analysis and Reporting:
  • Conduct thorough historical financial analysis to evaluate the organization's financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future financial performance and assess the impact of business decisions.
  • Analyze financial data to assist with budgets, projections, and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with future organizational goals and objectives.
  • Monitor financial metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress against.
  • Prepare detailed project and financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights and support strategic decision-making.


Cash Management:
  • Assist in banking transactions.
  • Assist in maintaining the monthly cash flow reporting and forecasting files.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reporting packages for the Leadership Team.


Project Management:
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification and control techniques
  • Identify and resolve matters of significance that impact the project's timeline, efficiency, or future success, communicating the project status to stakeholders.
  • Report project outcomes and risks to appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to the project work plan.


About you:
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree a plus
  • 5 years of experience as a financial analyst
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
  • At least 3 years of financial analysis experience
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • GAAP Accounting knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Work with cross-functional teams


Location: Headquartered in Washington, DC. This role is based in DC with 2 days/week in office.
