Riverside Medical Group is currently seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP, to include FNPs) to join our Neurology team in Gloucester, Virginia.
Scope of Practice:
Our neurology team is dedicated to treating patients with diseases of the brain, including memory issues, sleep medicine, headache management, and epilepsy. Our team approach ensures comprehensive, coordinated care for patients from hospitalization through outpatient treatment and services. The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies and performing thorough assessments and examinations. The provider in this position will work alongside the physician and will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients with both acute and chronic disease. Principal responsibilities include outpatient clinic focusing on continued treatment for established patients and new patient consults and rounding on patients on the inpatient service. The Advanced Practice Provider contributes to excellence in patient care and evidence-based practice and is an integral team member of Riverside Comprehensive Neurosciences Program.
Experience:
Prior Neurology experience preferred (but not required).
Education:
Accredited Program for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants required
Required:
Meet comprehensive and professional standards
Have a current, valid state of Virginia APRN license or be eligible for one
Be Board Certified or Board Eligible
Have a valid DEA controlled substance registration
Strong oral and written communication skills
Collaborative approach with other physicians and providers
Scope of Practice
Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies.
Performs thorough physical examinations and assessments.
Assessment of health status
Formulate patient care plans.
Provides counseling to patients about their care.
Prescribe tests and treatments / analyze the tests and treatments.
Document findings
Basic computer skills
