Job Description

The UAB Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition is actively recruiting for faculty positions at all levels of rank and academic track to join our team. This is a tremendous opportunity to further develop an established gastroenterologist program and participate in training residents and medical students. Responsibilities will include both educational and clinical duties within the division. Research opportunities exist within the division and department and are encouraged and supported. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with basic scientists.

We currently have thirteen board certified/board eligible pediatric gastroenterologists as well as a well-staffed practice housed at Children's of Alabama (COA). The division also has an active, accredited fellowship program.

With more than 2 million square feet, COA is the third largest pediatric medical facility in the U.S. COA offers inpatient and outpatient services across its Russell Campus on Birmingham's historic Southside with additional outpatient services provided at Children's South and Children's on 3rd. Primary care is provided at more than a dozen medical offices in communities across central Alabama. Children's of Alabama is the only medical center in Alabama dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children. It is a private, not-for-profit medical center, which serves as the primary site of the University of Alabama at Birmingham pediatric medicine, surgery, research and residency programs.

Positions offer competitive salaries along with a comprehensive benefits package. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the experience of the candidate and will consist of a guaranteed salary as well as a generous incentive plan linked to productivity.

Our mission at UAB is to champion equity and inclusion and, in particular, to advocate for inclusive excellence and equity so that UAB students, faculty, staff, community partners and friends can flourish and excel. Our mission is inspired by what we value, what we learn from research and what we teach and share with the world. It is our goal to inspire our people to take a courageous step to inspire equity and inclusive excellence throughout our state, nation, and the world, every day.
