The Space Vehicles Directorate, Program Control Branch (AFRL/RVFC) is seeking to hire a mid-level, DO-1101-II, Acquisition Program Management Specialist in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Acquisition Program Manager will lead the management of identifying, defining, developing, and documenting cost (budget/execution), schedule, & performance requirements for assigned programs, portfolios, and/or projects across the Space Vehicles Directorate.
Position Duties include, but are not limited to:
Leads multiple, cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPT) in development of an acquisition strategy & coordinates the contractual, financial, and technical tasks to accomplish deliverables, deadlines, & goals.
Supports the integration of the Scientific & Technological (S&T) Subject Matter Expert's direction, ensuring scope, tasks, & plans align with both S&T vision & technical performance objectives.
Interfaces with appropriate stakeholders across all levels to advocate for resources necessary to accomplish program, portfolio, and/or project's acquisition strategy.
Advises leadership of risks, risk mitigation strategies, and opportunities.
Follow the life cycle of associated contracts, including source selection team lead and/or program management delegate duties when required.
Monitors & guides contractor progress, conducting contract kickoffs, & Program Management Reviews as needed.
Represents the program at executive levels within the government and to contractor/industry representatives.
Ensures the correct interpretation & application of program management policies, regulations, principles, standards, & procedures.
Actively seeking opportunities to mentor program managers with similar or less experience levels, working collaboratively & flexibly with others to share relevant knowledge, information, & best practices with others.
Strives to provide the greatest return on investment for the taxpayer & warfighter by increasing S&T's technical effectiveness/capacity, radical teaming, clear communication, & identifying/removing waste.

Required Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
Employee may be required to work overtime
Ability to achieve/maintain DoD PM Certification and APDP Certification levels relevant to the position.
At least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade DO-I/GS-12 or equivalent in other pay systems. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in federal acquisition, program/project management, highly valued. Examples of specialized experience: served as a program manager providing a full range of development, coordination, and execution of an acquisition strategy, coordinating the contractual, financial, and technical tasks to accomplish deliverables, deadlines, & goals, and applying program management regulations, policies, and procedures. Examples of other relevant experience: served as a program analyst, scientist/engineer, financial specialist, and/or contracting specialist in supporting the identification, definition, development, & documentation of cost (budget/execution), schedule, & performance requirements for programs, portfolios, and/or projects.
Desired Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a related field is highly valued. Master's degree in business is desired
