Description

The Manager Cloud Services is responsible for shaping and driving the company's cloud transformation journey and ensuring the successful implementation and optimization of the cloud-based solutions. This position will lead the Cloud Service Team fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence in cloud technologies. The Manager Cloud Services will establish robust cloud architecture, enable scalability, security, and efficiency, while aligning with business objectives and industry best practices.

  • Provide strategic direction for the Cloud Services Team in areas such as innovation, scalability, security, and cost optimization.
  • Responsible for the Information Technology (IT) Cloud Services engineering and architecture.
  • Plan and manage Cloud Operations to include, but not limited to: budgeting, proactive monitoring, automation of routine tasks, capacity planning, etc.
  • Responsible for implementing DevOps automation within IT to create greater efficiencies.
  • Maintain core application infrastructure, production and non-production environments for use in application delivery, debugging, and testing.
  • Compile technical requirements and collaborating in development processes.

Essential Duties: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Responsible for budget management to include, but not limited to: assessing business needs and aligning them with cloud expenses, workload forecasting for compute, storage, etc.
  • Responsible for managing a team of high-level engineers.
  • Responsible for design, implementation, and migration of Cloud based services.
  • Responsible for tooling, design, and implementation of system used to manage code development and deployment.
  • Support audit controls and requests by responding to requests for evidence from auditors in support of these controls, ensuring the cloud environment adheres to regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as liaison between internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, provide technical guidance, and drive alignment between business needs and cloud engineering initiatives.
  • Manages vendor negotiations and contracts pertaining to these services including: Technology vendors, Information Security Vendors, and associated managed service providers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Carries out supervisor responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Coach, train and develop a team while managing the workflow and prioritization of projects and ensuring on-time execution and completion.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and/or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience required.
  • 3 + years of related industry experience; prior background in a dynamically changing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated effective experience in technical staff management and leadership.
  • Experience with DevOps and Infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with Azure core technologies.

Certificates/Licenses:
  • Microsoft Azure and ITIL certificates a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of:
  • Project management methodologies such as Agile.
  • Best practices IT Service Management such as ITIL.
  • Microsoft technology stack including Development platforms and tools such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, O365, Azure Active Directory, SQL, Databricks, Windows Server, Kubernetes, and Containers.
  • Networking technology including routers, switches, firewalls, and load-balancers.
  • Understanding of compliance rules such as SOX and PCI.
  • Developing and implementing IT best practices and procedures.

Skill in:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Microsoft Suite with proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
