Weekly Pay Range - $1685 To $1872
Job Title: Central Processing Department Educator Job Specialty: Central Processing Department Educator Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour day shift (primarily days, but start times may vary based on unit needs) Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Must have 3+ years of recent experience as an Educator in Central Processing/Operating Room. An Associate's Degree, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience is required. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred. License: N/A Certifications: Certification by Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Central Board of Sterile Processing Departments (CBSPD), or another related recognized certification such as an Operating Room Technician. Must-Have: - Demonstrated ability to implement training and orientation programs.- Basic computer proficiency.- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.- Physical ability to meet core job responsibilities. Job Description: - Assess, plan, coordinate, and evaluate orientation, continuing education, and in-service programs for competency-based staff development.- Recommend improvements in the quality of services provided by the Central Processing Department.- Serve as a resource to staff and ensure practices and policies are followed.- Implement training programs, including job shadowing and formal classes for new employees and students.- Evaluate and interview job candidates, making fit recommendations.- Coordinate with relevant teams to schedule and administer training and rotations.- Solve technical clinical issues and conduct quality improvement projects.- Develop and conduct educational programs and presentations for staff, utilizing principles of adult learning.- Evaluate clinical technical competence of trainees and probationary employees.- Develop training programs based on department evaluations and track related data.- Educate staff on new technologies and policy changes, and evaluate their effectiveness.- Monitor education progress and certification exam preparation for CPD technicians.- Maintain current knowledge and competency in CPD technology and sterilization practices.- Provide support for special projects and attend required meetings.- Adhere to established infection control and safety procedures and behavioral standards.
