Job Description

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for providing a minimum of 1 hr/week of clinical supervision to all assigned staff, arranging for coverage for clinical and concrete services int the absence of assigned staff.
  • Conducting annual performance evaluations, assigning cases admitted to the unit training and onboarding new staff/interns.
  • Conducting initial assessments and generating biopsychosocial assessments for new admissions on the inpatient service while working towards identifying the most appropriate aftercare plan and transition back to the community in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • The initial point of escalation that require interventions with child and adolescent serving agencies including foster care agencies, ACS, OCFS, DOE, OPWDD and other mental health service providers.
  • Oversee the tasks of licensed and non-licensed employees, provide training and onboard any new employee or intern, attend and actively participate in trainings on relevant individual, group and family therapeutic interventions specific to child and adolescent population, develop comprehensive interdisciplinary treatment plans, facilitate supportive, psychoeducational and insight-oriented psychotherapeutic interventions (both short and long term), providing crisis interventions to high-risk patients as indicated, engage with families to begin providing supportive, psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic interventions to patients and their families, providing support to families, and engage them as partners in recovery.
  • Required to identify barriers to discharge and coordinate all needed aftercare services and treatment are in place at time of discharge.
  • Candidate may be assigned to work in other clinical areas as needed when patient care needs arise


Minimum Qualifications

For Assignment to Level III
1. Valid license as an LCSW issued by the NYSED.
