Overview
Enlightened is seeking a Financial Manager that will analyze everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to upper management on future financial plans. The manager will be responsible for managing staff who support accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger management and payroll. The Financial Manager will be responsible for producing financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, identify areas in need of improvement and maximize productivity.

Responsibilities
- Provides overall leadership to the finance team (including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger management and payroll).
- Responsible for the GL, Cash & Bank Account reconciliation, monthly close, point-person for all financial auditing.
- Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information for managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
- Support business development activities by providing pricing for proposals.
- Ensure all procedures are followed according to written policies.
- Performs reconciliation on all bank accounts monthly; performs monthly closeout.
- Maintains accounting policies, updating them as required.
- Analyzing financial data.
- Streamlining accounting functions and operations.
- Coordinating audit processes.
- Develop trends and projections for the firm's finances.
- Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.
- Monitoring internal controls.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
Requirements
- 3+ years of managing a finance team specific to accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, general ledger management and payroll
- BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics with 5+ years of experience in the financial sector holding previous roles such as financial analyst or financial manager with a minimum of 3 years' experience managing a finance team.
- Extensive understanding of financial trends, financial statistics and accounting principles within the company and general market patterns.
- Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used while ensuring working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
- Familiar with fixed, time & material and cost-plus accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Preferences
- Use knowledge of GAAP, DCAA, and FAR regulations to update accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of full life cycle accounting experience for a federal government project
- Proficient user of industry-competitive finance software
- A professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus.
- Experience working with MS Dynamics a plus
