Position Description: The IT Support Specialist provides front-line technical support to end users, addressing a wide range of hardware, software, and peripheral-related issues. This role requires executing technical tasks using standard methods and procedures at a professional level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and onboard new users, including configuring laptops and iPads, and providing comprehensive guidance on using desktop and portable computer hardware and software effectively.
- Deliver technical support to all Davidson Homes employees, including divisional offices, sales teams, and design centers. Responsibilities include resolving hardware/software issues, performing system diagnostics, configuring network connections, and ensuring proper functionality of desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Manage and support company-owned computers (local and remote) running Windows 10/11 and macOS, ensuring systems are operational, updated, and compliant with corporate standards.
- Administer the Office 365 portal, managing licenses, creating and managing email accounts, setting up distribution groups, configuring user permissions, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of Windows Server, particularly Active Directory for managing user accounts and system permissions.
- Manage firewalls, with a preference for SonicWall experience (though not required).
- Administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient mobile device management across the organization.
- Set up and maintain software licenses for key applications such as NewStar Enterprise, Sales Xpress, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft 365, and BuildPro.
- Assist in managing cloud-based storage solutions like Box.com and OneDrive, ensuring security, accessibility, and proper organization of company documents.
- Conduct periodic IT audits to ensure compliance with company policies governing the use and acquisition of desktop and portable computer systems.
- Monitor and manage the company's support ticket system, ensuring timely and effective resolution of all IT issues and requests.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be available for "on-call" duties during nights and weekends on a rotating schedule to provide after-hours support as needed.
- Ability to travel up to 20%, including overnights.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of IT experience.
- Strong team player who can work independently when required.
- Self-driven and proactive, consistently taking the initiative to solve problems and achieve goals.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on user satisfaction.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with an aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science
- Relevant certifications
- Some Windows Server knowledge needed - active directory.
- Some MS SQL Server knowledge needed.
- Some Hyper-V server experience needed.
